Syrus was a tribute to the sea. He was my first OOAK Volks NEO GO 1/6 scale head, sized 27cm to fit Volks or other similar-sized fashion dolls (such as Barbie*). As I hand-painted his deep blue eyes I fancied he might be a merman, perhaps in search of a water-loving friend to enjoy the waves with. I didn't have a very good camera at the time so his pictures aren't the greatest. He looked much better in person.

His hair was factory-rooted platinum Saran that I hand-styled and trimmed for a wispy look. It was waist-length when I sold him and very soft to touch. Braiding it was time-consuming but simple enough. His face-up was sealed in a spray designed specifically for sealing doll paint so he could be washed without fear of fading. His lips and eyes were triple-sealed with clear gloss for a permanent shine. Syrus was sold November 2005.
