Cole was the first 60cm head I painted that didn't require eyes to be placed in the head. Painting him was very similar to painting one of the 27cm doll heads -- a completely blank canvas to design as I saw fit. As such I spent a lot of time working on his eyes, to make them look as close to a glass-eyed doll as I could with paints and pastels. Clear gloss added a fine shine that you can see shift in the light, captured surprisingly well in the photos.
